“If you are contemplating this tool, don’t hesitate. This tool is a must when doing exhaust manifold repair. We had 5 broken studs on a 5.4 F150. We spent hours trying to remove the studs, got 4 of them out but then broke an ez out in one. Jeff was extremely helpful in walking me through the repair with the tool.
I'm not certain if there is a doughnut between the exhaust manifold and the exhaust on 2005 models, but the first thing I would do is if the sound is loud, let the truck cool off. Then start it up when the sound is loudest. Get under the truck and place your hand near the connection.
